Manual Osteopathic Therapy in Regina

Manual osteopathic therapy is a new term for many in Regina. So let's break down what a visit may consist of.

A thorough health history - we will talk about everything. The body is one unit and it can be so helpful for the practitioner to know about all the little (and big) bumps and bruises you have sustained over your life to get a good picture or where we are at now.

Assessment - you will be thoroughly assessed. Meaning you may be moving around quite a bit in the beginning of the appointment to get an understanding of restrictions and what brings about your pain.

Treatment - using different modalities a treatment plan will be implemented working to align your system and decrease dysfunction in different areas. Check out the modalities page to get a better understanding of some of the hands-on approaches we may be using.

Manual osteopathic therapy is suitable for all ages from birth onwards. Contact us at (306) 580 7796 or book online to see how.

What is Manual Osteopathic Therapy?

“Therapy itself is an art and reflects the ability of the practitioner to utilize the combined experience of  himself and others in dealing with the intricate clinical problems which are complicated by such intangible elements as human personality, unusual environmental circumstances and many physical and psychic aspects which are, as yet, unknown to factual science.”

“Osteopathy is an established recognized system of diagnosis and treatment, which lays its main emphasis on the structural and functional integrity of the body. It is distinctive by the fact that it recognizes that much of the pain and disability which we suffer stems from abnormalities in the function of the body structure and as well as damage caused by its disease.”

Who Is Jessica Herbert?

Owner, founder and osteopathic practitioner Jessica Herbert graduated in 2015 from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax, NS. From there she went on to work in top clinics in Montreal and Toronto before moving back to Saskatchewan and starting her own clinic. In June 2022 she graduated from the Manual Osteopathic Therapy (MOT) program at the Manual Osteopathic College of Canada (MOCC).

Jessica realized she had a passion for working with diverse populations early in life. She always hoped to have a career working with neuro-diverse people. Before entering the health field, Jessica worked with special needs kids and adults. Since entering the health field, she has been working towards bringing this type of health care to neuro-diverse children and adults.

In 2019 Jessica suffered from a major concussion that made her slow down and focus on what was important. She took time to heal. During this time she became acutely aware of how the nervous system is linked to our emotions and how we see the world.

With Divergent Therapy, Jessica will bring together her understanding of anatomy, the nervous systems, her experience with chronic pain, sensory overload, and her natural ability to interact with others. She practices manual osteopathic therapy to bring ease to her patients’ nervous systems, bringing them into a better state of physical health and overall well-being.

She enjoys spending her time reading, taking her dog for walks, hanging out with her nieces, nephews, and family, and generally moving her body and interacting with the world.

Contact Jessica Herbert at (306) 580 7796 or book online today.
